LOOKING BACK

In honor of #TBT, I was going through some really old photos from the k&c archives, and found these photos of me and my girl Audrey in Paris last year. It struck me as pretty crazy when I started thinking about how much life has changed since I lived in Paris. For starters, I just moved to Los Angeles this week! It's hard to believe that my four years of college in San Francisco and Paris have already come and gone, but needless to say, it was four of the best years of my life. But of course, nothing lasts forever. Life changes just like the leaves on the trees at the end of each summer. With the changing seasons comes changes in our lives as well. Opportunities come, you take risks, sometimes you fail, but no matter what, you're constantly changing. I used to be afraid of change, afraid of the unknown, but I've realized over the last few years that it's silly to waste any time staying put. Life is full of unknowns and there is nothing we can do about that. Looking back over the past five years, I've moved from a small town in Massachusetts to the hustle and bustle of city life in San Francisco, to the ever-magical Paris, back to San Francisco, and now to LA. Life is leading me down this crazy winding road and I wouldn't have it any other way. Each place I go, I meet new people, have new experiences, make some crazy memories that I'll carry with me forever, and never regret anything that happens. So, maybe my life is completely different today than it was a year ago in Paris, and maybe it'll be completely different in another year, but that's what excites me. And now that I'm getting settled in LA, I can't wait to see what happens over the next few years. A lot of people hate the LA lifestyle, this never-ending concrete jungle that can rip your soul out and tear it to pieces, but I can't wait to give this city a run for its money. I've conquered cities all over the world, this will be the ultimate test. And on that note, a special shout out to my Mom today, who has made all of this possible over the years, today is her birthday and I'm sending her tons of birthday love from LA! New stuff coming soon, stay tuned. Photos: Anastasia Nielsen
